Hello! I am Parul Luthra, mother teacher of Tender Hearts (2-3 years) at Cambridge Montessori preschool and It gives me immense pleasure to extend my warm wishes to all.
I am a highly committed professional primary teacher who loves working with young children and guiding them into education. I have a very calm and patient behavior and the ability to develop a strong relationship with children. I have excellent communication skills and listening skills to relate and connect well with my tiny tots.
I have always been passionate about education and as I am a very organized person by nature, I like to ensure that my classroom and work area are ready for the children’s arrival and my lesson plans are planned in advance following the curriculum. I like to make sure that my children are engaged and interested in my class so I make every extra effort for making the class environment fun and informative as well.
I am a postgraduate from Ambedkar University Delhi and have done masters in ECCE (Early Childhood Care and Education). I have a graduate in B.Sc. Human Development from Delhi University. I have also done a research dissertation on Analyzing NCERT’s preschool curriculum as a part of my master’s programme in which I have studied about the various aspects of how the curriculum should be designed for the pre-primary grades.
Early childhood care and education (ECCE) aims at the holistic development of a child’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs in order to build a solid and broad foundation for lifelong learning and wellbeing. ECCE has the possibility to nurture caring, capable and responsible future citizen. Therefore, our motive is to ensure child friendly environment where each child is valued, respected, feels safe and secure and develops a positive self-concept.
Working with children have always been a bliss to me and I enjoy every experience of interacting and sharing the joy of childhood with each individual child. At the preschool stage, children are curious and excited about the colours, shapes, sounds, sizes and forms around them. The child’s ability to experience the world gets richer and more differentiated over the years. This early learning takes place as a part of communication with adults and peers in which language also plays a very important role.
The school and the teacher play an important role in providing the ground and base to enable each child to realize her/his potential and to help them to step out into this world with confidence.
As an early childhood educationist, I believe that education is not an act of acquiring knowledge but learning a skill to lead life and forming one’s personality. It enables young minds to operate from their strength zone and outside of their comfort zone. Hence, they are able to be lifelong learners, able to adapt and adjust to the challenges they will face in their futures. Today, as we are moving towards a fast paced of global world, we need to nurture and groom our tiny tots for a successful life, therefore the curriculum designed for the children should address all the domains of development through the following three broad goals according to the NCERT preschool Curriculum.
Goal 1: Children Maintain Good Health and Wellbeing.
Goal 2: Children Become Effective Communicators.
Goal 3: Children become involved learners and connect with their immediate environment.
In the pre-primary years, Play is at the heart of how young children learn. Through play, children demonstrate what they are learning, what they are interested in, and what they are concerned about. Play is universally regarded as child’s way of learning. They love to play and are happy when they are given freedom to explore and experiment through play.
Cambridge Montessori Preschool caters to all the various aspects of curriculum with a Montessori ideology and pedagogy that focuses on a self-directed, hands on giving activities where the teacher acts a facilitator and gives freedom to the child to explore and discover knowledge.
